MINUS introduces a winter accessories collection every few seasons. For this release, we present a scarf crafted from a long-pile shaggy knit. The piece began as an homage to a silk scarf produced by a renowned leatherwear brand, reinterpreting its presence through an entirely different medium: knitwear. Since the early days of aviation, pilots are said to have worn scarves around the neck to improve ventilation and reduce discomfort and chafing. The scarf later became a familiar piece among generations of bikers. Here, MINUS filters that history through its own perspective and brings the form into the present. Designed with generous volume, the scarf takes on a different expression depending on how it is wrapped and styled. The yarn is a high-grade polyester selected for both its dimensional texture and exceptionally soft hand. Despite its pronounced, shaggy surface, the fabric feels smooth and supple against the skin, avoiding the prickling sensation often associated with knitwear. Its easy-care nature is another defining quality. In contrast to the rugged visual character of the design, the surface was developed to evoke the softness and delicacy of a cashmere-blend fabric. The piece reflects one of designer Toru N. Fujimoto’s recurring ideas: to remove the preconceived relationship between design and material. Rather than allowing a material to dictate what a design should become, the relationship between the two is deliberately rearranged. MINUSでは、数シーズンおきにウィンターアクセサリーのコレクションを展開しています。 今作では、毛足のあるシャギーニットを使用したスカーフをリリース。 某有名レザーウェアブランドが展開するシルクスカーフへのオマージュを起点に、その佇まいをニットという異なる素材へ置き換え、MINUSの解釈で再構築しました。 航空史の初期より、パイロットたちは首元の風通しを確保し、不快感や擦れを軽減するためにスカーフを巻いていたといわれています。 その後も数多くのバイカーに愛用され続けてきたスカーフというアイテムを、MINUSのフィルターを通してアップデート。 ボリュームを持たせた設計により、巻き方ひとつでさまざまな表情を生み出します。 糸には、高品質なポリエステル糸を採用。 豊かな立体感を持ちながら、しっとりと柔らかな肌触りに仕上げており、ニット特有のチクチクとした刺激をほとんど感じさせません。 また、イージーケアであることも、この素材の大きな魅力のひとつです。 荒々しく存在感のあるデザインとは対照的に、肌触りにはカシミヤ混素材のような繊細さと柔らかさを目指しました。 これはデザイナー Toru N.
