The BOOTLEG COLLECTION takes vintage T-shirts produced between the 1970s and 1990s as its point of reference and is built around the personal archive of designer Toru N. Fujimoto. For this piece, a vintage item from an iconic custom motorcycle brand—closely connected to the theme of PROVOKE #4—has been reinterpreted through the perspective of MINUS. The defining graphic is rendered through a specialized embroidery technique that recreates even the distressed and irregular character of the original print. By translating traces normally created through the aging and fading of print into the contrasting medium of embroidery, the graphic gains a new sense of depth and dimension. The knit itself is based on the construction of the “Classic Shaggy Knit Jumper (FUR KNIT),” another piece developed within the context of motorcycle culture. Its cropped box silhouette is proportioned to work equally well beneath a jacket or as a standalone piece. Extended ribbed cuffs allow the sleeves to emerge from beneath outerwear, creating additional possibilities through layering. The crew neck is set at a comfortable height, while the dropped shoulders incorporate traditional British knitwear detailing at the junction between sleeve and body. The shaggy knit, reminiscent of mohair, is made from high-quality polyester yarn. Despite its pronounced pile and dimensional surface, the fabric is finished with a smooth, supple hand that minimizes the irritation often associated with brushed knitwear. Its easy-care properties are another essential aspect of the material. In deliberate contrast to its raw and visually assertive appearance, the fabric was developed to offer a softness and delicacy reminiscent of a cashmere-blend knit against the skin. This contrast reflects one of the principles held by designer Toru N. Fujimoto: “To remove the unconscious preconceptions that exist between design and material.” Something that looks like mohair does not necessarily need to be mohair. Rather than remaining bound to the conventional image or assumed value of a material, MINUS seeks to reconstruct the relationship between appearance, function, and substance. Experience what MINUS considers an ideal knit fabric through your own interpretation and styling. 1970年代から1990年代にかけて制作されたヴィンテージTシャツを参照点とし、デザイナー藤本透のパーソナルコレクションを基に構築するBOOTLEG COLLECTION。 今作では、PROVOKE #4のテーマを象徴する某カスタムバイクブランドのヴィンテージアイテムを、MINUSの視点で再解釈しました。 象徴的なグラフィックは、オリジナルに見られるプリントの掠れや不均一な表情までも、特殊な刺繍技法によって再現。 本来、プリントの経年変化によって生まれる痕跡を、刺繍という異なる技法へと置き換えることで、新たな奥行きと立体感を与えています。 ベースとなるニットには、同じくバイクカルチャーの文脈から生まれた「Classic Shaggy Knit Jumper (FUR KNIT)」の設計を採用。 着丈は、ジャケットのインナーとして着用した際にも、一枚で着用した際にも成立するよう、短丈のボックスシルエットに設定しています。 袖口には長めのリブを配置し、アウターとのレイヤードによって袖口を覗かせるなど、スタイリングによる変化も楽しめる設計としました。 クルーネックは首元に自然に沿う高さに設定。 ドロップショルダーには、袖と身頃の接続部分に見られる伝統的なブリティッシュニットのディテールを取り入れています。 モヘアを思わせるシャギーニットには、高品質なポリエステル糸を採用。 豊かな毛足と立体感を持ちながら、しっとりと柔らかな肌触りに仕上げることで、一般的な起毛ニットに感じられる肌への刺激を抑えています。 また、日常的に扱いやすいイージーケア性も、この素材の大きな特徴のひとつです。 荒々しく存在感のある表情とは対照的に、肌に触れた際にはカシミヤ混素材を思わせる繊細さと柔らかさを追求しました。 これは、デザイナー Toru N.
