This time, in collaboration with our long-time friends THE SUGAR PUNCH, we are proud to announce the release of a triple-name collection featuring the popular manga series SAKAMOTO DAYS, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. Toru Fujimoto and SUGAR (designer of THE SUGAR PUNCH) first met two years ago through a mutual acquaintance. Music, street culture, and manga. As they reflected on their pasts, they realized how much of the same background they shared, and the decision to collaborate came naturally and without hesitation. The idea to collaborate on SAKAMOTO DAYS also emerged during casual conversation. With the hope that a story they both love will continue to be cherished in the years to come, they asked themselves: What would SAKAMOTO DAYS merchandise look like if it were discovered as vintage in the future? That question became the core concept of this project. Rather than heavily altering the original SAKAMOTO DAYS graphics, the designs emphasize the image of “found goods,” as if these items had been unearthed years later, quietly bearing the marks of time. Though different in tone from our usual collections, this work represents a new side of MINUS, and this collaboration became an exploration into new creative possibilities.
