With the PROVOKE#2 collection, MINUS introduced dresswear as a new category within its evolving design language. For PROVOKE#3, the collection reconsiders the contemporary relevance of dresswear— examining how formal structure can coexist with everyday utility. The center crease, emblematic of traditional dress trousers, is rendered through precise stitching. This construction preserves the composure and sharpness of formal tailoring while allowing for effortless daily wear. The conventional front slash pockets have been reengineered into L-shaped slit pockets. When hands are placed within them, the stance recalls that of denim—relaxed, grounded, and natural. Inspired by the torsion found in unsanforized vintage jeans, a deliberate twist has been integrated into both the crease and seam lines. This subtle distortion elongates the silhouette and introduces directional tension. The waistband is designed with an easy, relaxed construction, balancing refinement with comfort. A signet-style logo, executed with the warmth of hand embroidery, adds a tactile and human nuance. While the hem retains sufficient volume to rest confidently over footwear, a night cut at the back prevents unwanted dragging against the ground. The fabric is a sulfur-dyed chino cloth, chosen for its ability to evolve beautifully over time, developing character through wear. Made in Japan.
