This piece reinterprets the signature work pants of a well-known workwear brand through the lens of MINUS. The design begins at the intersection of two systems: the non-ordinary functionality inherent in military wear, and the pragmatic functionality of workwear. Through ergonomic pattern-making, a structure is constructed that naturally follows the movement of the body. The twisting commonly seen in unsanforized denim is incorporated as a design element, introducing distortion into the garment’s outline. Despite its wide silhouette, it is engineered to maintain vertical tension. By twisting the seams, the shaping of the pants is expressed along the vertical axis rather than the side seams. From the front and back, the silhouette reads as a wide straight, while from the side, it reveals a semi-shaped tapered form—offering two distinct expressions. Slits at the hem enhance the volume and presence of footwear. The fabric is a piqué with knit-like stretch, providing both structure and flexibility. In addition, repeated hand processes—such as bleaching, washer finishing, and sun-drying—create a depth of color that speaks for itself. Enjoy the process of wearing it in over time.
