Part of the BOOTLEG COLLECTION, a series inspired by designer Toru N.Fujimoto’s personal archive of 1990s vintage T-shirts. Among them, NINE INCH NAILS is one of the bands that had a profound influence on his adolescence. This piece marks the first dress shirt released under the BOOTLEG COLLECTION. Reconstructed through the lens of MINUS, it takes inspiration from a 1920s dress shirt found in Fujimoto’s personal collection. The patches placed throughout the shirt feature graphics previously developed within the BOOTLEG COLLECTION. Each patch is hand-printed by skilled artisans. The ink used for printing is custom-developed, as with the rest of the BOOTLEG COLLECTION, allowing the print to age naturally through wear. The fabric is woven from Supima cotton and Giza cotton, both regarded among the world’s finest cottons. It offers a soft hand feel with a refined, natural sheen reminiscent of silk. Against the carefully constructed dress shirt, the DIY-inspired patchwork expresses his background with clarity and depth. The cuffs eliminate conventional button openings and are designed to fit through integrated thumbholes. Worn on its own or layered beneath a jacket, the sleeve detail creates an effective visual accent. Enjoy it through your own interpretation.
