The BOOTLEG COLLECTION pays homage to the 1990s vintage T-shirts found within designer Toru　N. Fujimoto’s personal archive. Among the bands represented, NINE INCH NAILS had a particularly profound influence on his adolescence. This piece marks the collection’s first exploration of a patched hoodie. Drawing from an archival garment from the early 2000s in Fujimoto’s personal collection, it has been reconstructed through the perspective of MINUS. The patches placed throughout the garment feature graphics previously introduced within the BOOTLEG COLLECTION. Each one is individually hand-printed by skilled artisans. The prints are produced using a proprietary ink developed specifically for the collection. Through continued wear, their color and texture gradually evolve, aging together with the body of the garment. A soft and lightweight French terry fabric provides comfort for everyday wear. The front kangaroo pocket is constructed from one of MINUS’s signature materials, “VEGETABLE TANNING PIG LEATHER HIT WITH A SPIKED BAT.” By incorporating leather that develops greater depth, luster, and tonal variation through wear into the casual structure of a hoodie, the garment offers a more approachable expression of the leather aging central to MINUS. DIY-inspired patchwork and contrasting materials come together to reflect Fujimoto’s personal background with clarity. Designed to evolve over time, the garment invites each wearer to interpret it in their own way. Due to the special dyeing process used, color transfer may occur through friction or contact with moisture. Please handle and wear with care.
