A cut-and-sew piece that designer Toru N.Fujimoto considers one of the most permanent propositions within MINUS. The design begins with vintage military garments from his personal archive, reconstructed through the perspective of MINUS. For this iteration, the garment remains faithful to its vintage origins through the use of a classic thermal fabric. It was conceived as a styling tool that can be worn continuously through the transition from summer into autumn and winter. Rather than treating it simply as insulating underwear, the piece is designed to interact directly with styling—layered beneath distressed denim, worn with shorts, or used to alter the balance of an entire look. The silhouette is developed into a shoe-cut flare with a slight accumulation of fabric around the hem. While retaining the close-fitting structure associated with traditional thermal underwear, the subtle flare toward the foot introduces a new proportion to layered styling. The thermal fabric is lightly distressed, adding the rustic character associated with MINUS. This effect becomes particularly pronounced when paired with shorts, where both the texture and silhouette are more visibly exposed. As with the “Combat Long Thermal With Damaged (CLASSIC WAFFLE KNIT),” the fabric is a classic 100% cotton waffle thermal. Its inherent warmth remains intact, while its original functional purpose is expanded into a tool for styling. Not simply an inner layer for warmth.
