Reconstructed through the perspective of MINUS, this piece takes inspiration from a pair of 1930s work trousers from the personal archive of designer Toru N. Fujimoto. The pattern was extracted directly from Fujimoto’s vintage piece, preserving its original proportions and sizing while being redesigned into a contemporary R-shaped silhouette. The gently curved construction follows the line of the leg, creating distinctive tension and shadow across the fabric and forming a dimensional shape unlike that of conventional straight-cut trousers. The details retain classical elements found in vintage work trousers and early denim. A durable button fly is paired with an adjustable back cinch at the waist. The fabric is a sulfur-dyed chino cloth that has been used continuously throughout the MINUS collection. Through repeated wear and washing, the color gradually fades, developing natural creasing, contrast, and tonal depth over time. Cotton thread is used throughout the entire construction. As both the fabric and stitching fade naturally at their own pace, each pair develops an increasingly individual character through wear. Designed to be completed through time, each pair evolves according to the way it is worn.
