A cut-and-sew product that designer Toru N. Fujimoto most permanently wishes to propose at this moment. Based on his personal collection of vintage T-shirts, this piece was designed to allow you to enjoy MINUS’s BOOTLEG TEE throughout the year. This season’s release comes in two fabric types: a thermal material inspired by military garments, and a jersey fabric with enhanced styling versatility. It was developed with the assumption that it would be worn under faded T-shirts—hence the black color has been given a moderate washed look. The sand and mocha colors were also dyed to complement the tone of well-worn vintage tees. When considering layering with T-shirts, Fujimoto focused on the bulking effect that often occurs when the seams of an inner long-sleeve and an outer T-shirt overlap. To resolve this, the product adopts a split-raglan sleeve design. Because the seams do not align with those of the outer T-shirt, there is no visible bulge, allowing for a sleek and sophisticated layered silhouette. The body silhouette has a slightly narrower hem width compared to the body width, making it easy to tuck in while also allowing you to adjust the length to your preferred height. This idea stems from Fujimoto’s observation that when T-shirt lengths vary within a wardrobe, it tends to restrict the choice of bottoms. By enabling subtle adjustment of the hem position, the piece offers greater styling freedom and balance. Worn so that the hem slightly peeks out beneath a T-shirt or outer layer, it creates the refined vertical line that MINUS pursues. The highly elastic fabric provides excellent horizontal stretch, ensuring a comfortable, stress-free fit with moderate contouring. The cuffs feature thumbholes, allowing the sleeves to function as hand warmers as well. The thermal version has been finished with moderate distress processing, embodying the rustic aesthetic distinctive to MINUS. Not merely a functional innerwear piece, this item was conceived as a styling tool, designed through thoughtful consideration of both form and utility. Of course, it can be worn on its own—enjoy styling it freely in your own way.
