In collaboration with A PUZZLING HOME, a long-standing creative counterpart, we present the second installment of our double-name items, defined by the signature embroidery of both brands. Rooted in embroidery as the core expression of each identity, the piece is reconstructed from a contemporary perspective, drawing from a vintage sukajan owned by A PUZZLING HOME’s designer, Matsukubo. The garment is fully reversible, allowing two distinct aesthetics to coexist within a single piece. On the A PUZZLING HOME side, the characteristic colors and detailing of traditional sukajan are preserved, while a 1990s skull motif is reinterpreted. Combined with a spiderweb motif, it evolves into an expression that carries the memory of vintage. On the MINUS side, shunga is adopted as the central motif, reconstructed in a composition reminiscent of a Vietnam jacket. By visually eliminating the ribbing, each side is designed to stand independently as a complete expression. The split raglan construction provides a light, fluid fit, while the ladder stitch running along the center back introduces structural tension. The cropped box silhouette enhances the contours of the body with clarity. The heavy triacetate satin offers both a smooth luster and a weighty drape. The original knitted cotton rib combines durability with the beauty of aging over time. A product that encapsulates two distinct worlds within a single garment.
