A bootleg series inspired by vintage T-shirts from the 1970s to the 1990s. Rooted in the personal archive of designer Toru.N.Fujimoto, the series reconstructs memories of music and culture into garments. This piece reinterprets a T-shirt from a legendary independent label that helped define the Seattle grunge and alternative scene of the 1990s. The original vintage T-shirt emerged from irony and rebellion against the major music industry. Its iconic phrase, “Dear Loser,” originated from rejection letters sent to artists submitting demo tapes, becoming a symbolic message of alternative culture. MINUS reconsiders that phrase not as defeat, but as something inherited and carried forward— transforming it into the idea of “LEGACY.” The pigment-dyed body carries the texture of years of wear. A cropped box silhouette creates contemporary balance and styling freedom. Custom-developed inks are used to achieve nuanced natural fading. Due to specialized dyeing processes, color transfer may occur.
