Reconstructed through the lens of MINUS, this piece takes inspiration from a vintage leather jacket from designer Toru N.Fujimoto's personal archive. The reference is a classic British stand-collar single rider's jacket, admired for its refined silhouette rather than the aggressive presence of a traditional double rider. While preserving its timeless character, the jacket has been reimagined in denim with the lining removed, creating a garment that can be worn comfortably across a longer season. The fabric is MINUS's original Velvet Denim. A flocked finish is applied over the denim surface, creating a texture that exists somewhere between suede leather and velvet. As the garment is worn, the flocking gradually fades, revealing the indigo denim beneath. That exposed denim continues to age naturally, allowing two independent layers of patina to develop over time. The silhouette remains classically fitted, yet the stretch denim and ergonomically engineered pattern provide exceptional freedom of movement. Action pleats at the elbows and split raglan sleeves preserve the sharp shoulder line while ensuring unrestricted mobility. An original DARL-finished ring button is used at the collar, complemented by restrained DARL hardware throughout the garment for a unified appearance. The rich tonal depth created through processing, together with the natural drape of the fabric, enhances its sculptural form. Every detail is designed with aging in mind.
