The BOOTLEG COLLECTION takes vintage T-shirts produced between the 1970s and 1990s as its point of reference and is built around the personal archive of designer Toru N. Fujimoto. For this piece, a vintage item from an iconic custom motorcycle brand—closely connected to the theme of PROVOKE #4—has been reinterpreted through the perspective of MINUS. The defining graphic is rendered through a specialized embroidery technique that recreates even the distressed and irregular character of the original print. By translating traces normally created through the aging and fading of print into the contrasting medium of embroidery, the graphic gains a new sense of depth and dimension. The design is built upon the structure of a classic baseball cap. Heavy distressing is applied throughout, followed by repairs using industrial metal hardware reminiscent of underground culture. Repair—an act originally intended to restore damage—is deliberately exposed here as part of the design itself. By layering traces of destruction and wear with the cold, industrial character of metal, the cap develops the rustic and decadent atmosphere characteristic of MINUS. The material is a cotton twill suitable for year-round wear. Available in two colorways: SUNFADE BLACK, expressing the appearance of prolonged exposure to sunlight, and WASHED BLACK, finished with the character of a garment worn and washed over time. The memory of vintage custom motorcycle culture meets a new expression created through destruction and repair. Designed to continue evolving through use, the piece can be interpreted across a wide range of styling.
