This piece is an homage to a legendary, near-mythical series of modern military wear found within designer Toru Fujimoto’s personal collection. Produced by a certain renowned outdoor manufacturer, the original series is considered exceptionally rare even among vintage garments. This work strongly reflects one of Fujimoto’s signature design philosophies: “RISE TO SURFACE” A concept in which elements of British workwear are brought to the surface from within the framework of American modern military garments. Amid its functionality, the piece evokes the raw, rustic, and powerful masculinity characteristic of MINUS. The leather components use MINUS’s original tea-core leather, while the nylon sections are crafted from nylon ox dyed with natural botanical dyes. While typical technical wear tends to deteriorate over time, this garment is engineered so that its aging becomes part of the aesthetic—something to be enjoyed, not avoided. The insulation uses two layers of ultra-thick 3M Thinsulate, delivering warmth that rivals, if not surpasses, down. A cropped box silhouette that carves the body with refined sharpness.
