The HOME series is an experimental line derived from the PROVOKE #3 collection, with this piece marking its initial release. HOME is designed around designer Toru Fujimoto’s daily circulation—moving between his home and atelier. It is clothing conceived to enable a continuous transition from living space to working environment, independent of time or conditions. Balancing functional performance as fashion with the structural durability required for daily creative work, the material, construction, and specifications have been comprehensively reengineered. The fabric is inlay denim. Built on a loopback structure and densely knitted, it achieves both abrasion resistance and mobility, combining the appearance of denim with a comfort close to sweatwear. While referencing a classic coverall, the piece is modernized through elements such as split raglan sleeves and a hooded collar. Despite its wide silhouette, it is designed to maintain vertical tension. Pocket placements and surrounding details are reconfigured, breaking away from the dense, jacket-like impression typical of traditional coveralls. Their overall lowered positioning introduces a sense of comfort and looseness. Rivets are treated with a rusted finish, while other metal components undergo a dull (blackened) treatment, allowing the surface to evolve with wear. Each piece is individually distressed within the atelier, followed by a garment dye process as the final step, adding depth to the color layers. A variable product that shifts in behavior according to the wearer’s interpretation. Made in Japan.
