Reconstructed through a collage-based approach, this jacket references two iconic vintage denim jackets from a renowned jeans manufacturer, both held in designer Toru N.Fujimoto’s personal collection. By merging the defining details of each garment into a single structure, the piece transcends the conventions of a denim jacket, taking on the tension and presence of a riders jacket. While retaining the cropped proportions of the originals, the silhouette has been refined into a sharper, more contemporary balance. The ergonomically engineered split-raglan construction creates a clean, sharply defined armhole while preserving a generous range of movement. Action pleats at the back further enhance mobility, allowing the compact silhouette to remain comfortable in wear. A back cinch allows the shape and hem opening to be finely adjusted, particularly when the jacket is worn open. MINUS’s signature ladder stitching runs along the center back. The cuffs are finished with original ring buttons introduced this season, while the metal components undergo a dull finish to reduce their surface sheen. The fabric is a 14oz denim woven slowly and with care in Kojima, Kurashiki, Okayama—an area renowned for its denim production. Cotton thread is used throughout every stage of construction, allowing both the stitching and the fabric to fade naturally over time. With continued wear, the jacket gradually develops a richer and more individual character. A garment designed to be completed through time and wear. Made in Japan.
